Mayor Garcetti: LGBT Heritage Month Closing Party
Mayor Garcetti requested an edgy event that maintained a level of class for his LGBTQ Heritage Month “Closing Night” Celebration. Christopher Kreiling Studio created an environment mainly using neon to adorn Vibiana, an old church-turned-event space in downtown Los Angeles. Washes of LED lighting illuminated the space in a James Turrell fashion as guests posed on the red carpet in front of a neon sign stating, “Step-and-Repeat.” MOCA then used it as inspiration for their performance series under the same name. After the Mayor spoke, the guests enjoyed a modern dance performance by men in heels, live music, and an open bar.
